關於本活動

The Toronto Taiwan Film Festival is a non-profit public cultural event hosted by the Toronto Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce. It is the first Taiwan Film Festival in Toronto, and it also fills the gap in the large-scale promotion of Taiwanese films in eastern North America. The scale of the film festival is comparable to the Vancouver Taiwan Film Festival and echoes it.

The Toronto Taiwan Film Festival (TFFT) not only helps Taiwanese culture enter the Toronto community through the artistic value and audio-visual style of Taiwan's best films, but also allows local audiences to appreciate the charm of different images. The stories presented in the film can actively promote Taiwan's humanistic characteristics and social outlook, allowing local audiences to experience the unique charm of Taiwanese culture at close range.

How to tell a good story about Taiwan in Canada under the background of diversity has always been the purpose of the Toronto Taiwan Film Festival. How to present Taiwan's inclusive and multiculturalism to local audiences is the driving force for the Toronto Taiwan Film Festival to strive for excellence. Crossing the cultural gap, the Toronto Taiwan Film Festival serves as a bridge to bridge the distance between two multicultural societies.

The Taiwan Film Festival in Toronto/Taiwan (TFFT) is a non-profit public cultural activity hosted by Taiwan Entrepreneurs Society Taipei/Toronto(TESTT) Co-hosted with Vancouver and Seattle, the scale of this filmfestival is comparable to the Taiwan Film Festival in Vancouver.

The Taiwan Film Festival in Toronto (TFFT) introduces an in-depth understanding of the culture between the Taiwan and Toronto communities through arts, movies and multi-media channels. The target audience are the 1st generation Asian-Canadian, film professionals and residents the Greater Toronto Area. This festival will showcase

Taiwanese culture and films in the Greater Toronto Area.

Taiwanese films have always been known for their high level and high quality, as well as the Chinese and even world film circles. Contemporary Taiwanese society has a multi-cultural background, freedom and creativity, so it can give filmmakers a good stage to expand and have a certain influence on the film territory. The characteristics of Taiwanese films are that they emphasize the style of directors, prefer to use non-star actors, pay attention to Taiwan's history, and love live shooting to closely follow the real scene of society. Propaganda work, very artistic style. This feature has made directors such as Hou Hsiao-hsien, Hou Hsiao-hsien, Edward Yang, and Tsai Ming-liang highly acclaimed in the international film circle.

This year's Taiwan Film Festival will screen 3 critically acclaimed films: "The Wandering Company" (Director: Jiang Ruizhi); "Freak" (Director: Liao Mingyi); "Old Man" (Director: Hung Bohao).

The film festival will be held in the parking lot of the Woodside Square shopping center at the intersection of Finch/McCowan in Scarborough, and the space is limited.
